Take the time to design and plan your retirement.
There are many aspects to designing and planning your retirement. I recognised 15 areas of my life that I wanted to concentrate on.
Make retiring a process.
My 15-point Retirement Plan. Everything is neatly in a folder and I access this once a week and update my information.
Get clear on your purpose in life.
I found this a very important task as I still want to achieve some things that I’ve not had time for in the past few years (spoiler alert - I want to spend 6 months May – October 23 in Wales)
Be intentional about how you spend your time.
This is a make or break my day situation for me. Some people are happy with drifting into the day, and really, why not? It’s great to be able to slow down and stop rushing from pillar to post. Some people are happier when they live intentionally and have achieved something. I like a pat on the back end of my day!
Create a routine to give you structure.
Getting into a routine at the beginning of your retirement really helps to ease you into your new life. Getting a diary or a notepad and writing down some of the tasks you want to do the next day also helps you to focus. Saying that shaking it up every now and again really helps too.
Build social interactions into your everyday activities.
There are many ways to interact with others if you are single or married. Whether it’s forming a friendly relationship with someone you see regularly in a shop or café to hosting a games afternoon or evening with some neighbours and friends.

P.S. Do you have any retirement tips that helped you?
I'd love to hear them. x
