The hard truth of it is.... the thoughts and feelings that you have had and the decisions and choices that you have made, have shaped your life and has created the life that you are now leading. This, if understood at its foundation, puts the responsibility of your life experiences, to date, with you. Tough right? But empowering too!
Understanding this will open the door to see that we have choices - we can literally direct our own lives by deciding to have empowering thoughts, by redirecting our feelings to those of positivity which will lead to better decisions and choices.
I have been on a path of self-discovery and personal development for several years. Whether this started because of age maturity or after being faced with some home-truths myself, I'm not sure, but anyhow, it's a great path so far!
I realized that I am where I am because of the choices I have made. It took awhile for me to accept the responsibility of where I stood in life. In the past, I looked for who I could blame. Who I could blames for the bad luck I was experiencing, for losing that job, for arguments, and feeling hard-done by, in fact for all of the various unfavorable predicaments that I found myself in. It was a downward spiraling circle. The more I looked to blame the more I found. I was putting my attention on blaming someone else, instead of taking responsibility.
My ipad has been a godsend. It has enabled me to listen to speakers like Wayne Dyer, Marie Sheldon, Louise Hay, Eckhart Tolle, Abraham-Hicks and Dr Joe Dispenza (while doing the housework and cooking) with varying intensity. I was amazed at their teachings and strived to improve myself by adopting some of their advice. Then as the pressures of life took over, you know, work, kids, divorce, death of loved ones, they would go out of my consciousness and their books would be 'lost' in a pile of other books and I would be back to what I considered 'normal'. Then, out of the blue, I would discover one of my books - it was like bumping into an old friend that I loved and hadn't seen for ages. I would listen to their words of wisdom, again, order their latest book and concentrate on PD ........ and so on, in and out of consciousness.
Believing in the power of your words and understanding the basics of neuroplasticity has lead me to The Power Life Script with Peggy McColl.
She has shown me a simple way to keep focused and empowered on what I want to create in my life.
Using the Power Life Script, I have literally scripted what I want to create in my life. I have my script, I have recorded it, and I listen to it every day.
Have I created everything in my script? Heck no! It is about the journey not the destination. Make your journey amazing!
Just remember, wherever you are in life, changing your perspective, upgrading to empowering thoughts, and deciding to go for those feel-good moments can produce outstanding changes in your life. Keep it light, keep it simple and don't take yourself too seriously!
